Franca Leeson – Class of 1976

Franca Leeson: After graduating and travelling around a bit I became a freelance copywriter, writing mostly pamphlets and informational campaigns relating to health and social issues. As computers became more sophisticated I drifted into graphic design, because I was able to use a computer and many designers at the time were not. This was back in the days where most professional men didn’t touch keyboards. Their loss, our (women) gain. Later, I went into web design.
Now I’m retired, pretty much. I winter in Florida (except when there’s a pandemic). I maintain a few websites for small charities and not-for-profits (like Mindcamp), and help my friends through technical difficulties when they need it. I have a husband, two kids, two stepkids and one grandkid. Oh, and I read a lot… finally there’s time for that!
