It’s the first day of school and you have just stepped into class. As everyone settles down, your teacher rises from his seat to write "Capitalist Pigs" in big letters on the board. Although the teacher hasn’t yet spoken, there seems to be a consensus that the "Capitalist Pigs" in question are our neighbors from the South -– the good old people of America.

Jarvis's Latest Vice

As a new school year is already well underway, there are many exciting things happening within the halls of Jarvis: a large campaign has been launched to build a school in Sierra Leone; preparations are in the making for Jarvis’s Bicentennial celebration in May, and many new staff members have joined the ranks of the Jarvis faculty. Among these newcomers is Jarvis’s new senior vice principal, Ms. Hicks.

It’s the class right before lunch and your teacher tells you to stop talking; you can wait until lunchtime to continue your conversation. Most of us can wait until the lunch bell rings, but others have yet another class to attend: a co-curricular class.

If you watch the news, chances are you’ve heard about the increasing number of incidents that have threatened the safety of students. As a result of these shootings, many schools have heightened their security procedures.
